Marc is eight years old, has hard-working parents, and a grandmother named María who picks him up from school every afternoon. Together they go to the park, watch cooking shows, and buy packs of stickers to, with a bit of luck, finish his grandfather Tomás's album. Tomás recently passed away, but Marc and María are looking for ways to keep his memory alive.

Jordi Palet i Puig has written a funny and very sweet play about absence and overcoming grief, featuring a magical relationship between a grandmother and her grandson. De azúcar (Of Sugar) was awarded the 21st ASSITEJ Spain Prize for Theater for Children and Youth for its sensitivity and its clear, relatable writing. It is the first bilingual Spanish-Catalan book in the ASSITEJ Spain Theater Collection.
